Being pregnant and going through pregnancy is every woman’s dream, but it is a little scary also. As we all are aware that giving birth is a matter of life and death. We all need mental, emotional and physical to go through all the changes.

No doubt we have a family to support us throughout this phase but we also need a doctor who can understand our condition, who knows what is going on with our body and who can guide us with what to do and what not.

A Gynecologists is not just a doctor for a pregnant woman, but she is a friend in whom she can confide what all is going on with her body and how she can cope with these changes. What precautions are required? Is the baby safe and so on.

No pregnancy is the same, even the second pregnancy of a woman can be different from the first one. As every child is not the same, similarly every pregnancy is different with every child. It is important that to-be-mother can gel with the doctor. If the pregnant lady can be friends with the consulting doctor then the pregnancy can be easy and can be a walk in the park. Also, if the consulting doctor is not so friendly or does talk softly with the patient then it can be really difficult.

So, it is advisable that you should not go after the reviews rather you should learn through your experience. You may take a recommendation from a friend or someone in the family, but then you need to access yourself.

One can make a relation in one or two meetings, but if you are satisfied or sure about the doctor then you may look for another doctor and work it through. It is important that the patient should have a connection with the doctor otherwise they might have a problem.

Well, are you wondering how to choose a suitable  gynaecologist? Honestly, every doctor is an expert in their own field. They work hard to serve their patients. There is no point that any doctor is better than the other one. It is we humans who have different requirements and understanding with different people. We cannot have the same relationship with everyone. Similarly, we might find someone more connecting or knowledgable or intelligent as compared to the other person.

Here are few tips as how to choose a doctor-

These tips are basic understanding and requirements you need to look for in a doctor.

Good Reputation-

Once you know you have to consult a gynecologist, look out for a reputed and experienced doctor. You  may also look for somebody who is a resident medical officer in a hospital, that will ensure you the availability of a hospital during your requirement, plus it means the doctor also has a proper set-up to deal with the pregnancy. So, always opt for a doctor who has experience in their field.

You look for the doctor, through some recommendation by a friend, family or the other doctor. You may also look for a doctor online and check out their references shared by the other patients. Once you are sure about the person, then you may opt for an appointment and fix a consultation meeting. After a meeting you will be able to understand whether you may continue with the doctor or keep looking for the other one.

If you are regular to a hospital for your family check-up and you are very much satisfied with it, then you may ask the resident medical officer to introduce you to the gynecologist of the hospital and you continue with the same.

So, the reputation and faith goes a long way while choosing a doctor.

Accessibility of your Gynecologist-

This is one of the most important factors one needs to consider. Yes! How accessible is your gynecologist? You must be wondering, what is the requirement to check the accessibility of the doctor?

You may go to the scheduled check-ups and that is it. But it is not true. Accessibility plays a very important role. As the pregnancy advances there is a chance that you get some trouble during the course.

It is important to determine whether the doctor is accessible through phone calls, or if they are available in the hospital, so that they can be consulted easily. If they are not open to the idea of accessibility then you need to consider your choice. If your doctor is not available in time of need then there is no use.

Personal Traits-

Lastly, it is important to look for a friendly, caring and understanding doctor. There is no chance that you go along with a strict doctor. You should actually bond with your doctor.
