PULMONARY FUNCTION EQUIPMENT

INTRODUCTION:-

Pulmonologist doctors are trained to diagnose the condition and disease of the lungs, chest, and complicated chest problems that affect the body and patient’s breathing. PULMONARY FUNCTION EQUIPMENT is used to examine the disease and it shows how’s the lungs are working. 1. TIDAL VOLUME:-

This is the quantity of air exhaled and inhaled during breathing.

2. MINUTE VOLUME:-

This is the total quantity of air exhaled per minute.

3. VITAL CAPACITY:-

This is the volume of air that exhaled after inhaled as much as the patient can.

4. FUNCTIONAL RESIDUAL CAPACITY:-

This is the quantity of air left in your lungs after exhale.

5. RESIDUAL VOLUME:-

This is the quantity of air left in your lungs after exhaling as much as the patient can.

6. TOTAL LUNG CAPACITY:-

This is the volume of the lungs when filled the air as much as possible.

7. FORCED VITAL CAPACITY:-

This is the amount of air exhale quickly and forcefully after inhaling.

8. FORCED EXPIRATORY VOLUME:-

This is the amount of air that expired during the test.

9. FORCED EXPIRATORY FLOW:-

This is the rate of flow during the middle half of the test.

10. PEAK EXPIRATORY FLOW RATE:-

This is the fast rate that you can air out forcefully of your lungs.

The amounts of exhaled and inhaled in your test results are differentiate to the average for someone of the same height, race, and age. The results are also compared to your previous results. If your tests are not normal or your results are changes then you may need other tests also.

WHY NEED PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST:-

Many reasons to do the pulmonary function test. Sometimes the person is not in good condition and has a breathing or lung problem then they may need some test to find out the problem. The doctor will examine the patient through some tests and then do the treatment. The environment also has a strong impact on our health. 1. If you use a denture, wear your dentures during the procedure.

2. Empty your stomach and bladder before the procedure.

3. Remove your tight clothes and jewelry if you wear them because it may cause a problem.

4. Try to breathe from your mouth, not from the nose.

5. Mouthpiece is given to you.

6. Exhale and inhale in different ways.

7. during the procedure if you face any problem like dizziness, breathing problem then tell your doctor.

8. Bronchodilator is given to you after the test. After it taken effect, the test will be repeated after some time.
